"Positions of Contemporary Drawing" shows two artists - Maria Ploskow and Ulla Maibaum - who both prefer to present their work in large wall installations.
Maria Ploskow opens up surprisingly poetic spaces with her drawings and animations. The artist creates icon-like worlds with pen and paper, but even more so with mouse and computer. She plays with floral elements, cosmic shapes and tribal symbols. In doing so, she creates imaginary worlds with a subtle feeling for compositional rhythms and fine humor.
Ulla Maibaum complements the installations with her sensitively executed watercolors.
The works capture moods and give the viewer access to the artist's intimate emotional space.
