We showcase selected artists working in colour painting who take a different approach. They expand the boundaries of this art form by using unusual painting media or surfaces, or by experimenting with new forms and textures. Whether chiffon or lipstick has served as ‘paint’, whether the brushstroke has become the form of the picture, or whether the picture has been ‘destroyed’ in a creative way, the selected works nevertheless exemplify ‘colour painting’ – expanded, exciting and surprising.
