Waiting is part of our everyday lives: we wait for the bus, the train, at the doctor's office or government agency, in traffic jams or in line outside a club. Creative waiting for inspiration or joyful anticipation are among the more pleasant forms of waiting; waiting takes on existential and political forms in places such as prisons or for refugees at national borders or government agencies. The exhibition "Figures of Delay" deals with the different facets of delays and temporality: How does waiting shape our lives, our perceptions, our politics, and our society? Who has to wait while others move forward? How can temporality and its individual perception be represented? An exhibition about the rhythm of our lives and the forms of delay.
