Her installations are both memorable and unmistakable. Since 2010 Anna Boghiguian has been painting figures on cardboard that are hung from the ceiling as three-dimensional mobiles or stand on the floor arranged in mise en scènes. Boghiguian describes herself as a nomadic artist with an affinity for literature. Born in Egypt, her family emigrated to Canada. From there she has continued to move between continents, cultures, and media throughout her life. The point of depature for her vibrant works are likewise history and works of literature, which always address issues of migration and political conflicts. In fall 2022 Kunsthaus Bregenz will be providing the stage for her installations.
Anna Boghiguian (* 1946, Cairo) predominantly lives and works in Cairo.
