"Loops in Time and Space" - Mojé Assefjah & Koloman Wagner
25 Jul 2026 — 30 Aug 2026
In this year's festival exhibition, "Loops in Time and Space," at the Galeriehaus on Ignaz-Rieder-Kai, we present a dialogue between the wooden sculptures of Koloman Wagner and the vividly colored paintings of Mojé Assefjah.
In his organic wooden sculptures, Koloman Wagner intuitively combines art and science. Music serves as a central source of inspiration, as does physics, particularly the concept of spacetime. His stacked wooden sculptures are based on musical structures and open up a spatial understanding of time, while the flexibility of movements and brushstrokes in Assefjah's paintings is reminiscent of Persian calligraphy. Through the interplay of opacity and transparency, proximity and distance, spatiality emerges, and layer upon layer, depth is created.
