DITTRICH & SCHLECHTRIEM is pleased to announce the first solo show in Berlin of Thomas Liu Le Lann titled MILO, opening on the occasion of Gallery Weekend Berlin, April 29–May 2, 2021, which at the moment will take place only online. The central installation consists of a series of seven long-legged Soft Hero forms, circling each other on uniquely formed vintage-styled steel tricycles, manufactured by the artist and titled Allen, Justin, Nacho, Milo, Chevalier d’Argent, Y and Eliot. Alongside these protagonists of the exhibition, Liu Le Lann has installed a new set of vinyl and deep velvet Deftones paintings, titled after the early 90s art-metal dream-punk group from California, a pyramid titled The Weakling of skateboards custom-produced in Nevada, and Levitrax 1937, a woeful grey terry-cloth lobster claw, draped with PVC cut as seaweed, named after a common asthma / allergy tab for adolescents. Large-scale fabric paneled works line the wall, printed with text, logos and emblems.
