In Renata Rara Kaminska's solo exhibition "THE RAG", the Berlin-based Polish artist focuses on the subject of freedom of the press. In particular, Kaminska addresses the profound desire of every human being able to freely express his or her own opinion and the way the issue of suppression is dealt within the Western Hemisphere. Her selection of materials ranges from tropical wood from former colonial countries to urban concrete to what is probably the most important symbol of the press: newspaper. In large-scale installations as well as several smaller sculptures, she embraces various topics ranging from public political protests to the atmosphere of a private exchange of information, and defines the newspaper as an autonomous space.
Although the exhibition takes place during the Warsaw Gallery Weekend, it has no commercial purpose and is open to the public free of charge.
