Our notions of flowing sequences, physical processes and order are repeatedly undermined by the artist's objects. What just seemed familiar and functional turns out to be an illusion that distorts, irritates and humorously outrages. In Elisa Manig's absurd universe of devices, we are repeatedly thrown back on our expectations and demands on the world around us, confronted with challenges and forced to think in a completely new way; a good exercise for the worst-case scenario...
