Marta Djourina's new solo exhibition at the FeldbuschWiesnerRudolph Galerie Berlin is entitled Soleil de Minuit. The literal translation would be "Midnight Sun" but actually the phrase is used for "Polar Lights" in French.
The project is based on the idea of permanent journeys, a constant movement and displacement to new places or to well-known memories, meeting points, points of meanings, points of surprise or points of collisions .
In Soleil de Minuit, Djourina takes to a new and much more complex level not only her researches on the the images, but also on their perception, through a consciously created and deliberately manipulated spatial / lighting context.
All this provokes an active dialogue between two harmonious levels of existence and perception of the art works. On the one hand, there is continuity in the process of experiments with the light, color and material, presupposed by the photographic act. On the other hand, the space is conceptualized through an organic interweaving of different media and an active dialogue between her projects in photography, sculpture and film.
