Kaloki Nyamai lives and works in Nairobi, Kenya. His artistic practice is centered around questions of identity, what it means to inhabit a certain body in different spaces, or how the histories of the Kamba people shape identity in Kenya today. With a background in interior design and film, Nyamai creates intricate mixed media works and installations. His work has been shown in galleries and exhibitions across Africa and Europe, and is currently on view at the Kenyan pavilion at the Venice Biennale as well as at the Dak'Art - Biennale de l'Art Africain Contemporain.
