Christian Voigt arbeitet mit digitalen und analogen Großformatkameras. Er experimentiert mit neuen Kameratechniken und nutzt das digitale Medium optimal aus. „Meine Bilder werden mit der Kamera erstellt, nicht mit dem Computer", sagt er und verweist auf die komplizierte Technologie und Verarbeitung, die in seinen Kreationen steckt. "Aber ohne die Computertechnologie von heute könnten die Bilder nicht in ihre endgültige Form gebracht werden."
Das Ergebnis sind mitunter architektonische Arbeiten von Motiven wie dem Prado in Madrid oder der Morgan Library in New York City. Als Teil der mittlerweile ikonischen Serie von Bibliotheks- und Museumsinterieurs vermitteln diese Fotografien die Strenge und Schönheit der Architekturen, in denen sich zugleich Christian Voigts Weltanschauung wie in einem Vergrößerungsglas konzentriert.
